If the intensity of earth's magnetic field is I and the angle of dip is `theta` horizontal component of the earth's magnetic field , `H=Icostheta` and vertical component , `V=Isintheta` .
According to the problem ,
`V=sqrt(3H)" or, "(V)/(H)=sqrt(3)" or, "(Isintheta)/(Icostheta)=sqrt(3)`
or , `tan theta=sqrt(3)=tan60^(@)thereforetheta= 60^(@)`
