A sonometer wire is stretched by a solid mass M. It produces a fundamental note of a certain frequency in tune with a tuning fork when its length is `70` cm. When the mass is immersed in water it is found that the length has to be changed by 5 cm in order to bring it in tune with the same tuning fork. Calculate the relative density of the material of the hanging mass.

A 50 cm long wire is in unison with a tuning fork of frequency 256, when stretched by a load of density 9 g cm^(-3) hanging vertically . The load is then immersed in water.By how much the length of the wire be reduced to bring it again in unison with the same tuning fork ?

A sonometer wire is in unison with a tuning fork . When its length increases by 4% , it gives 8 beats/with the same fork. What is the frequency of the fork ?

A sonometer wire vibrating in its fundamental mode, is in unison with a tuning fork when the length of the wire between the bridges is 25 cm. By keeping the same tension , the length between the bridges is increased to 75 cm. The tuning fork can still be in resonance with the vibrating wire , provided the wire vibrates with

A sonometer wire resonates with a tuning fork. If the length of the wire between the bridges is made twice even then it can resonate with the same tuning fork. How ?

A stone in hung in air from a wire which is stretched over a sonometer . The bridges of the sonometer are 40 cm apart when the wire is in unison with a tuning fork of frequency 256 Hz . When the stone is completely immersed in water , the length between the bridges is 22 cm for re - establishing unison . The specific gravity of the material of the stone is
