If the time period of a satellite `T_(S)` is different from that of earth's rotation `T_(E)` and the satellite is moving in the direction of earth's rotation, show that the time interval between two successive appearances of the satellite overhead is given by ltbRgt `(1)/(T) = (1)/(T_(S)) ~ (1)/(T_(E))`
What will happen to this interval if `T_(S) = T_(E)`

Text Solution
