In annelida four pairs of flask shaped sacs, each with a diverticulum for storgae of sperms and large ampulla for their nourishment is present. Spermathecase occur in 6-9 segments. They recive sperm during copulation. As cross fertilization occurs in earthworm, the sperms of one worm are transferred to spermathecase of the other.
