Iron is a conductor of electricity , but when we pick up a piece of iron resting on the group , why don't we get electric shock ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

To get an electric shock, the object should be charged. Pieces of iron on the ground are not charged. Thus, even though iron is a good conductor of electricty, we do not get an electric shock while lifting it from the ground.
