The correct Answer is:
d

(d) Physiological value of carbohydrates is 4.0 kcal/g of proteins 4.0 kcal/g and of fats is 9.0 kcal/g
Hence
5g raw sugar will yeild `5xx4.0=20.0` kcal
4 g albumin ( protein ) will yeild `4xx4.0=16.0` kcal
10+2 g of fat will yeild `12xx9.0=108.0` kcal
Total yeild=144 kcal.

when a mixture of aluminium powder and iron (III) oxide is ignited, it produces molten iron and aluminium oxide. In an experiment, 5.4gm of aluminium was mixed with 18.5 gm of iron oxide. At the end of the reaction, the mixture contained 11.2 gm of iron, 10.2 gm of aluminium oxide and an undetermined amount of unreacted iron (III) oxide. No aluminium was left. What is the mass of the iron (III) oxide left?

A copper calorimeter of mass 100 gm contains 200 gm of a mixture of ice and water. Steam at 100°C under normal pressure is passed into the calorimeter and the temperature of the mixture is allowed to rise to 50°C. If the mass of the calorimeter and its contents is now 330 gm, what was the ratio of ice and water in beginning? Neglect heat losses. Given : Specific heat capacity of copper =0.42xx10^3 J kg^(-1) K^(-1) . Specific heat capacity of water =4.2 xx10^3 J kg^(-1) K^(-1) Specific heat of fusion of ice =3.36xx10^5 J kg^(-1) Latent heat of condensation of steam =22.5 xx 10^5 J kg^(-1)
