Assertion : Mammals , living in deserts contain more concentrated urine .
Reason : They contain very long loop of Henle in their nephrons .

A

If both the assertion and the reason are true and the reason is a correct explanation of the assertion

B

If both the assertion and the reason are true and the reason is not a correct explanation of the assertion

C

If the assertion is true but the reason is false

D

If both the assertion and reason are false

The correct Answer is:
A

(a) Functional units of kindely is known as nephron. Later constant a tubular region between proximal and distal contains a tubular, the loop of Henle . The length of loop of Henle is proportainal to the concentration of urine. The mammals (chordates ) living in desert contains longer loop of Henle in their nephrons. Due to this these animals contain more conentrated urine.

Urine is concentrated in loop of Henle in

Assertion :- Mammals have the ability to produce a concentrated urine. Reason :- Counter current mechanism occurs in vasa recta and Henle's loop.

Assertion A: The renal fluid becomes increasingly concentrated when it flows down in the descending limb of loop of Henle towards the inner medulla but its concentration decreases in the ascending limb when it flows towards the cortex Reason R: The descending limb of the loop of Henle reabsorbs water, the ascending limb is impermeable to water but salts are reabsorbed

Assertion: The length of Henle's loop is proportional to the concentration of urine. Reason: The length of Henle's loop is opposite to concentration urine.

Assertion : Normal urine of man is hypertonic than the blood plasma. Reason : Counter-current mechanism of loop of Henle and Renin enzyme of juxta-glomerular cells increase the Na^(+) concentration in the adrenal medulla.

Assertion : While on going down the loop of Hece, the filtrate becomes hypotonic. Reason : The descending limb of loop of Henle is impermcable to both wster and electrolytes.

Assertion: The Henle's loop and vasa recta play a significant role in producing a concentrated urine. Reason: The counter current arrangement of Henle's loop and vasa recta helps in this.

Assertion : In the descending limb of loop of Henle , the urine is hypertonic , while in ascending limb of loop of Henle , the urine is Hypotonic . Reason : Descending limb is impermeable to Na' while ascending limb is impermeable to H_(2)O

Assertion (A): A molar solution is more concentrated than molal solution. Reason (R): A molar solution contains one mole of solute in 1000 mL of solution.
