The major role of Golgi apparatus is secretion. In glandular cells, Golgi apparatus concentrates their secretions and releases the same outside the cells. The secretory vesicles of the glands usually contains zymogen granules. They are sent out of the cells through exocytosis and reverse pinocytosis.
