The length & radii of three wires of same metal in the ratio `2:3:4` and `3:4:5` respectively. They are joined in parallel & included in a circuit having 5 A current. Find current in each wire.

Let `R_(1), R_(2),R_(3)` be the resistance of the wires.
Then `R_(1):R_(2):R_(3)=(l_(1))/(r_(1)^(2)):(l_(2))/(r_(2)^(2)): (l_(3))/(r_(3)^(2))=(2)/(9):(3)/(16):(4)/(25)`
The ratio of the circuits in the three wires must be inverse of the value above ratio `[ :. I=(V)/(R)i.,e I alpha=(I)/(R)]`
`:. I_(1):I_(2):I_(3) =(9)/(2) : (16)/(2):(16)/(3) :(25)/(4)=54:64:75`
As total current `=5A " " [ 54+64+75=193]`
`:. I_(1)=(5xx54)/(193)-1.40, I_(2)=(5xx64)/(193)=1.66A`
`I_(3)=(5xx75)/(193)=1.94A`
