Magnetic field lines can be entirely condined within the core of toroid , but not within a straight solenoid . Why?

Text Solution

Magnetic field lines can be entirely confined within the core of a toroid since toroid has no ends. `theta` solenoid is open ended and the field lines inside it which are parallel to the length of the solenoid cannot form closed curves inside the solenoid .
