The full scale deflection current of a g...

The full scale deflection current of a galvanometer of resistance ` 1 Omega` is 5mA. How will you convert it into a voltmeter of range 5V ?

From the relation , `V = I_(g) (G + R)`
`R = V/I_(g) `
` = (5/(5 xx 10^(-3))) - 1`
` = 999 Omega`
i.e., a resistance of 999 W should be connected in series with the galvanometer to convert i into a voltmeter .
