Evaluate the following integrals : `int(x^6+1)/(x^2+1)dx`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`int(frac{x^6+1-2}{x^2+1})dx=int(frac{x^6+1}{x^2+1}-frac{2}{x^2+1})dx`
`=int (frac{(x^2+1)(x^4-x^2+1)}{x^2+1}-frac{2}{x^2+1})dx`
`=int (x^4-x^2+1)-frac{2}{x^2+1} dx`
`=(x^5)/5-(x^3)/3+x-2tan^(-1)x+C`
