I=`1/2int(x^2 - x/2 +1/16 -1/16 -1/2)dx`
=`1/2[(x-1/4)^2-9/16]`
=`1/2[(x-1/4)^2-(3/4)^2]`
Thus,`int 1/2dx/[(x-1/4)^2-(3/4)^2]`
=`1/2(2/3)log((x-1/4-3/4)/(x-1/4+3/4))+c`
=`1/2log((2x-2)/(2x+1))+c`
