when a person living on plains ascend and stays on a mountain above 8000 feet the sea level , develops symptoms of mountain sickness which icludes breathlessness, headache , dizziness, irritability, nausea, vomiting, mental fatigue and a bluidh tinge on the skin , nails lips.
we known that with the rise in altitude , the barometric pressure and cnsequently the partial pressure of oxygen falls in the atmospheric air. this lowers the alveolar partial pressure of oxygen from the alveolar air to the blood. so oxygenation of blood is decreased progressively , which produces the sysptoms of mountain sickness , Emphysema.
