Explanation

Temperate deciduous forest are four-storeyed. The top stratum is occupied by trees reaching a heeight of 30-40m. There is an undertorey of small trees, an intermediate stratum of shrubs and a ground stratum made of herbs, grasses, ferns, mosses and lichens.
