Why metallic hydrides are called interstitial hydrides? Give one example.

Metallic hydrides are usually obtained by hydrogenation of metals and allaysin which hydrogen occupies the interstitial sites (Voids). Hence, they are called interstitial hydrides. Eg., PdH.
