Of two samples of nitrogen gas, sample A...

Of two samples of nitrogen gas, sample A contains 1.5 moles of nitrogen in a vessel of valume of `37.6dm^(3)` at 298K, and the sample B is in a vessel of volume `16.5dm^(3) at 298IK. Calculate the number of moles in sample B.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`n_(A)=1.5" mol "n_(B)=?`
`v_(A)=37.6dm^(3)V_(B)=16.5dm^(3)`
(T=298 K constant)
`(V_(A))/(n_(A))=(V_(B))/(n_(B))`
`n_(A)=((n_(A))/(V_(A)))V_(B)`
`=(1.5mol)/(37.6cancel(dm^(3)))xx16.5cancel(dm^(3))=0.66mol.`
