A helium filled balloon had a volume of 400 ml, when it is cooled to `-120^(@)C`. What will be its volume if the balloon is warmed in an overn to `100^(@)C` assuming changes in pressure.

Volume of the gas in the balloon `V_(1)=400 ml`
temperature `T_(1)=-120^(@)C+273`
`=153 K`
If the balloon iswarmed `T_(2)=100^(@)C+C273`
to a temperature `=373K`
Then the valume of the gas `V_(2)=?`
According to charles law `(V_(1))/(T_(1))=(V_(2))/(T_(2))`
`V_(2)=(V_(2))/(T_(1))xxT_(2)`
`=(400)/(153)xx373=975 ml`
`:.` volume of helium gas in the balloon at a temperature of `100^(@)C =975 ml`
