Which will be adsorbed more readily on the surface of charcoal and why, `NH_3` or `CO_2` ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The critical temperature of `NH_3` is higher than that of `CO_2` , ie., `NH_3` is easily liquefiable than `CO_2`. Hence `NH_3` has greater intermolecular forces of attraction and will be more readily absorbed on the surface of the charcoal than `CO_2`
