Can we use nucleophiles such as `NH_(3),CH_(3)O` for the Nucleophilic substitution of alcohols.

In activating an alcohol for nucleophilic substitution by protonation, strong basic nucleophiles such as `NH_(3), RNH_(2), CH_(3)O-` etc cannot be used since they too would be protonated in the acidic solution.
