A particle of mass 2 kg moving with a velocity `v_(1)=(2hat(i)-3hat(j))m//s` experience a perfectly inelastic collision with another particle of mass 2 kg having velocity `vec(v)_(2)=(3hat(j)+6hat(k))m//s`. Find the velocity and speed of the particle formed.

Text Solution

Mass `m_(1)=2kg " Mass" m_(2) = 2kg`
Velocity `v_(1)=(2hat(i)-3hat(j))m//s` Velocity `v_(2)=(3hat(j)+6hat(k))m//s`
When two particle experiences a perfectly inelastic collision. So,
`V=(m_(1)v_(1)+m_(2)v_(2))/(m_(1)+m_(2))=(2(2hat(i)-3hat(j))+3(3hat(j)+6 hat(k)))/(2+2)`
`= (4hat(i)-6hat(j)+9hat(j)+18hat(k))/(4)=(4hat(i)+3hat(j)+18hat(k))/(4)`
Speed of combined two particles,
`= hat(i)+(3)/(4)hat(j)+(9)/(2)hat(k)`
`v=sqrt(1^(2)+((3)/(4))^(2)+((9)/(2))^(2))`
`v=sqrt(1+(9)/(16)+(81)/(4))`
Velocity, `v=sqrt(21.81)m//s`

A particle is moving with a velocity, \vec { v } = K ( y \hat { i } + x \hat { \j } ) , where K is a constant. The general equation for the path is:

A uniform force of (2hat(i)+hat(j)) N acts on a particle of mass 1 kg. The particle displaces from position (3hat(j)+hat(k)) m to (5hat(i)+3hat(j)) m. The work done by the force on the particle is

A force vec(F)=3hat(i)+ c hat(j)+2hat(k) acting on a particle causes a displacement vec(S)=(2hat(i)-3hat(j)+4hat(k)) in its own direction. If the work done is 8J, then the value of c is

Find the work done in moving a particle along a vectors vec(S)=(hat(i)-2hat(j)+3hat(k))m if applied force is vec(F)=(2hat(i)-3hat(j)+4hat(k))N .

If the velocity is vec(v) = 2 hat(i) + t^(2) hat(j) - 9 vec(k) , then the magnitude of acceleration at t = 0 . 5 s is :

Two vectors vec(A) = hat(i) + 2 hat(j) + 2 hat(k) and vec(B) = hat(i) + 3 hat(j) + 6 hat(k) find . angle between them .
