How does the frequency of a tunning fork...

How does the frequency of a tunning fork change, when the temperature is increased?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

As the temperature increases, the length of the prong of the tuning fork increases. This increases the wavelength of the stationary waves set up in the tuning fork, As frequency, `v alpha 1/lambda` so frequency of the tuning fork decreases.
