Explanation

The central neural system lacks connective tissue, so the interneuron space is filled by Neuroglia. They perform several functions such as
1. Providing nourishment to the surrounding neurons.
2. Involving the memory process.
3. Repairing the injured tissue due to their dividing and regenrating capacity.
4. Acting as phagocyte cells to enguif the foreign particles at th time of any injury to the brain.
