Mass of the bullet , m= `50 xx 10^(-3) kg `
Initial speed of the bullet , u=300 m/s
Final speed , v=0
time , t=1s
To find : (i) Impulse ( of a force ), J=?
(ii) Force , F=?
Solution
(i) Impulse , J= Change in momentum
`=m(v-u)`
`=50 xx 10^(-3)[0-300]`
`=-15 Ns `
(ii) Impulse `=F xx t `
`-15 = F xx 1s`
`F=(-15)/(1)=-15N`
