Magnetic separation method :
Principle :
(i) Magnetic properties of the ores from the basis of separation .
(ii) When either the ore or the gangue is magnetic , this method is employed .
(iii) E.g. Tin stone `SnO_2` The ore of tin .
Method :
(i) The crushed ore is placed over a conveyer belt with rotates around two metal wheels , one of which is magnetic .
(ii) The magnetic particles are attracted to the magnetic wheel and fall separately apart from the non-magnetic particles.
