Explanation

There are three main factors that affect the solubility of a solubility .
(1) Nature of the solute and solvent :
(i) The nature of the solute and solvent plays an important role in solubility .
(ii) solubity us based on the phrase " like dissolves occurs when similarities exist between the solvent and the solute . e.g Ccommon salt is a polar compound and dissolves readilty in polar solvent like water .
(iii ) Non - polar componds are soluble in non- polar solvents . e.g sulphur dissolves in carbon disuphide .
(2 ) Effect of temperature :
Solubility of solids in Liquid :
(i) Solubility of a solid solute in a liquid solvent incrases with increase in temperature .
(ii ) In endothermic process , solubitiy increases with incrwase in temperature .
Solubility of Gases in liquid : Solubility of gases in liquid decrease in temperature
(3 ) Effect of prossure :
(i ) when the pressure is increased , the solubility of a gas in liquid increases .
(ii ) When pressure is increased , more gas molecules strike the surface of the liquid and mix into solution .
