It is the third stage of aerobic respiration and called Krebs cycle . Aetyl CoA from the second phase of aerobic respiration combines with oxaloacetate to form citric acid.
2. Since citric acid (Tricarboxylic acid ) is the first product, it is called TCA cycle /citric acid cycle.
