A restriction enzymes or restriction endonulease is an enzyme that cleaves DNA into fragments at or near specific recognition sites within the molecule known as restriction sites.
(i) Exonuclease are enzymes which are enzymes, which remove nucleotides one at a time from the end of a DNA molecule
Example: Bal 31, Exonulease III.
(ii) Endonuleases are enzymes which break the internal pohosphodiester bonds within a DNA molecule.
Example: Hind II, EcoRI, TaqI.
