This type of vegetation is located along streams and rivers. The most common species are, Terminalia, Diospyros, Salix, Ficus and grasses. They are found on the banks of Godavari, Krishna, Ganga, Brahmaputra, Narmadha Yamuna and riverbeds of Cauvery and Thamirabharani in Tamil Nadu.
