A particle moves along the x-axis from `x=0` to `x=5m` under the influence of a force given by `F=7-2x+3x^(2)`. Calculate the work done in doing so.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`F=7-2x+3x^(2)`
`W=underset(x=0)overset(x=5)intFdx=underset(0)overset(5)int(7-2x+3x^(2))dx`
`=[7x-(2x^(2))/(2)+(3x^(3))/(3)]_(0)^(5)`
`=(7xx5)-(5)^(2)+(5)^(3)=135J`.
