Explain the significance of narrow hysteresis loop.

Explanation

Magnetic ( ferro ) substances having narrow hysteresis loops lose amount of heat per cycle. These substances are generally used as cores of chokes and transformers . E.g : Permalloy an alloy of Fe and Ni shows a narrow hysteresis curve and hence used as the core material for chokes and transformers.
