Text Solution

Verified by Experts

A type of reaction in which two or more lighter nuclei under a very high pressure and `10^(6)k` of temperature, combine to form a heavier nucleus with the release of enormous energy per nucleon is called nuclear fusion reaction.
`e.g. : 4(._(1)^(1)H) overset(10^(6)K)rarr_(2)^(4)He+_(+1)^(0) beta +Q`
Energy released per nucleon is approximately 27 MeV/fusion.
