The radiations emitted by radioactive elements are called radioactive radiations. The phenomenon of spontaneous disintegration of certain unstable nuclei of atomic mass number with the emission of `alpha, beta and gamma` radiations is called natural radioactivity. Radioactivity produced artificially or induced by transmutation is called artificial or induced radioactivity.
