Explain the role of Atrial Natriuretic factor in the regulation of kidney function.

ANF is a peptide hormone secreted by the atrial wall. An increase in the blood flow to the atria of the heart can cause the relase of ANF. ANF can cause vasodilation of blood vessels and there by decrease the blood pressure. ANF mechanism acts as a check on the reninangiotensin mechanism.
