Verified by Experts

Give a brief account of absorption of fatty acids and glycerol in small intestine. Fatty acid and glycerol are insoluble, hence cannot be absorbed into the blood. They are first incorporated into small droplets called micelles. Micelles move to inestinal mucosa, where they are reformed into very small protein coated globules called chylomicrons.
Chylomicrons are transported into lymph vessels in villi and lymph vessels release these absorbed substances into blood stream.
