The public health measures which can safeguard against infectious diseases include the following.
(i) Education: Public must be made aware about infectious diseases, mode of transmission and preventive measures so that they can protect themselves against infections.
(ii) Isolation: A person suffering from an infectious disease should be kept in isolation from other healthy persons. Healthy practices wijh good personal and public hygiene must be maintained.
(iii)/ Vaccination: People should be vaccinated against infectious diseases like small pox, chicken pox etc.
(iv) Sanitation: Proper sanitation of the surroundings can prevent spread of infectious diseases.
