What is the volume of oxygen at STP can be produced by 8.1 g of potassium chlorate according to the reaction `2KCl_(3) to 2KCl + 3O_(2)`?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`underset(2 xx 122.5 g)underset(2 mol)(2KClO_(3)) to underset(2 mol)(2KCl) + underset(3 xx 22.4 L at STP)underset(3 mol)(3O_(2))`
Now 245 K `KClO_(3)` produces oxygen of STP `=3 xx 22.4` L
8.1 g of `KClO_(3)` produces oxygen `=(3 xx 22.4)/(245) xx 8.1 = 2.22` L at STP.
