The elements for which the last electron has entered in s - orbital are called s - block elements.
p-block elements are those for which the last electron has entered in the p - orbital. d-block elements are those in which the last electron has entered the d - orbital . The elements in which the last electron entered into the f - orbital of their atoms are called f - block elements.
