If the speed of light is `3.0xx10^(8) m s^(-1)`, calculate the distance covered by light in `2.00 ns`.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
`6.00xx10^(-1) m= 0.600 m`

According to the question :
time taken to cover the distance = 2.00 ns
`=2.00 xx10^(-9) s`
Speed of light `=3.0 xx 10^(8) ms^(-1)`
Distance travallled by light light in 2.00 ns
=Speed of light x time taken
` = (3.0 xx10^(8) ms^(-1))(2.00xx10^(-9)s)`
`=6.00 xx 10^(-1) m`
=0.600 m
