Arrangement the following polymers in increasing order of their intermolecular forces. Nylon `6,6` Buna-S, Polythene.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

On the basis of intermolecular forces, polymers are classified as elastomers, fibres and plastics. The increasing order of intermolecular forces is Elastomer `lt` Plastic `lt` fibre. Thus, we have
(i) Buna-S `lt` Polythene `lt` Nylon-6,6
(ii) Neoprene `lt` Polyvinyl chloride `lt` Nylon 6.
