The magnetic moment vectors vecmus and v...

The magnetic moment vectors `vecmu_s` and `vecmu_l` associated with the intrinsic spin angular momentum `vecS` and orbital angular momentum `vecl` respectively, of an electron are predicted by quantum theory (and verified experimentally to a high accuracy to be given by
`vecmu_s=-(e/m)vecS` and `vecmu_l=-((e)/(2m))vecl`
Which of these relations is in accordance with the result expected classically? Outline the derivation of the classical result.

Current in the wire, `I=2.5A`
Angle of dip at the given location on earth, `delta=0^(@)`
Earth's magnetic field, H=0.33G=0.33`xx10^(-4)T`
The horizontal component of earht's magnetic field is given s:
`H_(H)=H cosdelta`
For current l and area of cross-section A, we have the relation :
where,
e=charge of the electron
r=Radius of the circular orbit
T=Time taken to complete one rotation around the circular orbit of radius r Angular momentum, l=mvr
Where,
m=mass of the electron
v=velocity of the electron
Dividing equation (1) by equation (2), we get:
Therefore, of the two relations, is in accordance with classical physics.
