Find the equation of a line which is equidistant from the lines `x=-4` and `x=8`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
equation is `x=2`

The given line `x=-4` and `x=8` are parallel to `y-`axis

Also, the required line is equidistant from these lines.

So, it would be parallel to `y-`axis at a distance of `1/2 (− 4 + 8) = 2` units from it
Hence ,
its equation is `x=2`.
