The partial pressure of ethane over a sa...

The partial pressure of ethane over a saturated solution containing `6.56 xx 10^(-3) g` of ethane is 1 bar. If the solution contains `5.00 xx 10^(-2) g` of ethane, then what shall be the partial pressure of the gas?

We know that, `m=K_(H)xxP`
`therefore 6.56xx10^(-2) g=K_(H)xx1 "bar"`
`therefore 5.00xx10^(-2) g=K_(H)xxP`
`K_(H)=6.56xx10^(-1)//1 " bar(from I")`
`K_(H)=5.00xx10^(-2)//p " bar (from ii")`
`therefore (6.56xx10^(-2))/(1)=(5.00xx10^(-2))/(p)`
`therefore P=(5.00)/(6.56)=0.762` bar.
