If Aa n dB are mutually exclusive event...

If `Aa n dB` are mutually exclusive events such that `P(A)=0. 35a n dP(B)=0. 45` , find `P(AuuB)` (ii) `P(AnnB)` (iii) `P(A nn B^prime )` (iv) `P( A^prime nn B^prime )`

We know that, i)`P (A ∪ B) = P (A) + P (B) – P (A ∩ B)`
⇒ P (A ⋃ B) = `0.35 + 0.45 – 0 [given] `
⇒ P (A ⋃ B) = `0.80`

ii)It is given that A and B are mutually exclusive events. ∴ P (A ⋂ B) = 0`
`
iii)P (A ⋂ B’) = P (A) – P (A ⋂ B)
= 0.35 – 0 = 0.35

iv)P (A’ ⋂ B’) = P (A ⋃ B)
