A company manufactures cassettes and its cost and revenue functions for a week are `C=300+3/2x` and `R=2x` respectively, where `x` is the number of cassettes produced and sold in a week. How many cassettes must be sold for the company to realize a profit?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Profit `= R(x) - C(x) `
`⇒ 2x - (300 + 1.5)`
`⇒ 2x - 1.5 = 300`
`⇒ 0.5x = 300`
`⇒ x = 300/0.5`
`⇒ x = > 3000` Cassettes Answer.

Maximum profit: An barrels manufacturer can produce up to 300 barrels per day. The profit made from the sale of these barrels can be modelled by the function P(x) = -10x^(2) +3500x -66000 where P(x) is the profit in rupees and x is the number of barrels made and sold. Based on this model answer the following questions: What is the maximum profit which can manufacturer earn?
