Force constant of a spring is 100 `N//m`. If a 10kg block attached with the spring is at rest, then find extension in the spring.
`( g= 10 m//s^(2)`)

In this situation, spring is in extended state so spring force acts in upward direction. Let x be the extension in the spring.
F.B.D. of 10 kg block `:`
`F _(s) = 10g `
`rArr Kx =100`
`rArr ( 10) x = ( 100)`
`rArr x = 1 m`
