In a transistor the forward bias is aIways smaII as compared to the reverse bias. Why?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

In a transistor, charge carriers (electrons or holes) move from emitter to collector through the base. The reverse bias on collector is made quite high so that it may exert a large attractive force on the charge carriers to enter the collector region. These moving carriers in the collector constitute a collector current.
