A steel rod of length 1 m rests on a smooth horizontal base. If it is heats from `0^@C` to `100^@C`, what is the longitudional strain developed?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

In this case rod rests on a horizontal base which is the free expansion on heating. Hence no strain is developed in the rod i.e. Strain = 0
