The correct Answer is:
A

When the source the train moves towards the observer, the apparent frequency is
`f'=(V)/(V-V_(S))f` . . (i)
When the source is moving is moving away, the apparent frequency is
`f'=(V)/(V+V_(S))f` . . (ii)
`(f')/(f")=(V+V_(S))/(V-V_(S)) or (100)/(50)=(2)/(1)=(((V)/(V_(S))+1))/(((V)/(V_(S))-1))`
`(V)/(V_(S))=3` . . (iii)
When the observer moves with the train, there is no relative motion between the source and the observer and hence he will listen the true frequency f. Substituting (iii) in (i), we get
`f'=(V')/(V-V_(S))=(1)/(1-((V_(S))/(V))) implies 100=(1)/(1-(1)/(3))xxf implies f=100xx(2)/(3)=66.67cps`.
