A soap bubble of radius 1.0 cm is formed inside another soap bubble of radius 2.0 cm The radius of an another soap bubble which has the same pressure difference as that between the inside of the smallar and outside of large snap bubble, in metres is

A

`6.67 xx 10^(-3)`

B

`3.34 xx 10^(-3)`

C

`2.23 xx 10^(-3)`

D

`4.5 xx 10^(-3)`

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
a

Given radius of first soap bubble `(R_(1)) = 2.0 cm`
radius of second soap bubble `(R_(2)) = 1.0 cm`
we know that,
radius of another having same pressure difference,
`R = (R_(1) R_(2))/(R_(1) + R_(2))`
or, `R = (2.0 xx 1.0 xx 10^(-4))/((2.0 + 1.0) xx 10^(-2))`
or, `R = (2 xx 10^(-4))/(3 xx 10^(-2))`
or `R = 6.67 xx 10^(-3)`m
